Ecstatically shooting everything in sight using my beloved Nikon D3100 with AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G VR kit lens and AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G prime lens.

Also capturing outrageous beauty left and right with my Nikon D7000 blissfully married to my Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D AF prime glass. Don't be jeal.

REMEMBRANCE

When I am gone

Please remember me

 As a heartfelt laugh,

 As a tenderness.

 Hold fast to the image of me

When my soul was on fire,

The light of love shining

Through my eyes.

Remember me when I was singing

And seemed to know my way.

Remember always

When we were together

And time stood still.

Remember most not what I did,

Or who I was;

Oh please remember me

For what I always desired to be:

A smile on the face of God.

You Want To Find This
The Promise Of Redemption

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I BELIEVED, AND THEREFORE HAVE I SPOKEN; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

II Corinthians 4

THE DREAMERS

In the dawn of the day of ages,
 In the youth of a wondrous race,
 'Twas the dreamer who saw the marvel,
 'Twas the dreamer who saw God's face.

On the mountains and in the valleys,
By the banks of the crystal stream,
He wandered whose eyes grew heavy
With the grandeur of his dream.

The seer whose grave none knoweth,
The leader who rent the sea,
The lover of men who, smiling,
Walked safe on Galilee --

All dreamed their dreams and whispered
To the weary and worn and sad
Of a vision that passeth knowledge.
They said to the world: "Be glad!

"Be glad for the words we utter,
Be glad for the dreams we dream;
Be glad, for the shadows fleeing
Shall let God's sunlight beam."

But the dreams and the dreamers vanish,
The world with its cares grows old;
The night, with the stars that gem it,
Is passing fair, but cold.

What light in the heavens shining
Shall the eye of the dreamer see?
Was the glory of old a phantom,
The wraith of a mockery?

Oh, man, with your soul that crieth
In gloom for a guiding gleam,
To you are the voices speaking
Of those who dream their dream.

If their vision be false and fleeting,
If its glory delude their sight --
Ah, well, 'tis a dream shall brighten
The long, dark hours of night.

Go for the Gohl

Before sitting down to lunch, we did that selfie thing

In the same week that we lost our canine buddy Rambo, I was privileged to officially meet a new friend (of the human variety) and fellow blogger.

God is so good.

I speak of Jeanette Gohl, from Plymouth Township, Michigan (a state replete with fantastic bloggers), west of Detroit, northeast of Ann Arbor, who blogs at Net On The Net.

What a sweetheart. She had inquired in a recent comment how close I live to Mauldin, South Carolina (basically Greenville, in the upstate), where she and her husband Rich were going to be, visiting relatives.

We made a plan and ended up meeting yesterday at Cracker Barrel in Simpsonville, South Carlolina, an hour and fifteen-minute drive for me.

It was good to get out of the house on a beautiful, breezy spring day and ride up the road in the pirate mobile to have lunch with another blogger -- especially one who was willing to sit and listen to me yammer for going on three hours.

I'm not sure Jeanette knew she was in for such a talkathon; I mean, if you read me, you know I have a lot to say. But in person I pretty much can't stop talking. Ask anyone.

If they're not too exhausted to answer, they will confirm that this is the case.

My mother used to say of me, She'll talk to a dressed-up dog, to which I would take great umbrage because I will just as readily talk to a dog that's naked as a jaybird.

(In my own mind, there is a line of earless billy goats stretching to the horizon. I have talked all of their ears off.)

At any rate, Jeanette was able to eat her lunch while most of mine got cold and went back to the kitchen. And I always clean my plate, and I mean clean it clean. Clean clean.

Not this time. My lunch companion is quieter than me, and an excellent listener, and although she was able to share a few things, mostly she was patient as I singlehandedly solved five-eighths of the world's problems.

If Rich hadn't returned to the scene of the crime to negotiate the hostage situation retrieve his wife and continue with their vacation, we may have sat there another three hours.

(Although in that scenario, chocolate cake would probably have been involved, and there would not have been a crumb left on my plate.)

Jeanette has been a blogger since 2005. She's got me beat by two whole years! We agreed that blogging has added so much to our lives, not the least of which are many wonderful friends from all over.

How I wish I could meet every single person whose blog I read. What a treat that would be!

For me, at least.

(All of y'all would have to accept that you not only have the right to remain silent, but when I'm around, unless I am wearing a muzzle, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that you won't actually have a choice.)

Rich was pressganged into taking additional shots as we parted ways

Still, Jeanette and I have wonderful memories of our meet-up, with promises to do it again when she is once more in South Carolina and/or I am within striking distance of her neck of the woods.

Rich took more pictures of us as we parted ways, with hugs and fond farewells.

Tell me in the comments which of your blogging buddies you have met or plan to meet! I'd like to hear about it.

And that is all for now.

That is awesome that you two were able to meet up and spend a little time together.
Sounds like a lot of fun!!

I recognized Jeanette right away! So fun that you got to meet. I’ve never met a blogger friend in my 14 years of blogging. I’ve purposefully kept my name and exact location anonymous for numerous reasons. But I am a real person,,,,,LOL!

@Lori ... It was truly epic. xoxo

@Bijoux ... I never doubted it, haaaha! xoxo

Lucky you to meet Jeanette! She lives in my state and I haven't met her yet. And she was also so blessed to meet you!
When I first read that you got to meet another blogger, I thought "Someone for Jenny to talk to!" I swear, that was thought of with love. I just know your talents well. So I really laughed as I read on. Especially at the thought of those earless goats.
I've been able to meet 4 blogging buddies in person - and you know one was you (and TG too).
Blogging certainly is a blessing, especially in the friends we meet, some of whom, like you become lifelong friends!

April 14, 2022 | Unregistered CommenterMari

How wonderful! I follow her! You are both looking so good! Isn't it wonderful to finally meet a fellow blog follower? I have met about four of my blog followers, and it is so special every time.

April 14, 2022 | Unregistered CommenterGinny Hartzler

@Mari ... Amen sister, meeting my blogging buddies -- it totals four for me too now, including you -- is such a blessing because they know I do go on and on but they can't possibly know how MUCH I can talk in person, haaahahahaaa so they are clueless for a while and then the light dawns. BUT Jeanette, like you, is a good sport and we had a wonderful time! I wish we could all get together at one time! I really would let someone else have the floor for a minute or two, haaha! Happy Easter to you and Bon! xoxo

@Ginny ... I think the total is four for me now as well! Isn't that special? By the way our Cherica, with Baby Rhett, have been enjoying a small vacation in Virginia this week! They wanted to see the Chesapeake Bay and Colonial Williamsburg! They've had a wonderful time in your beautiful state. Happy Easter! xoxo

Oh how fun to meet Jeanette!! I follow along her blog and I knew she was on a road trip. How great you guys were able to connect and spend some time together! Honestly if we ever meet, I hope you do carry the conversation because I prefer to listen than to speak :) Looks like you guys had a wonderful time together!

I have met 3 bloggers. One doesn't blog any more but I met Kelly (I don't even remember her blog name) when I lived in Southern California and she lived in another city close by. We hung out a few times together. I met Debby from Just Breathe (I don't think you guys follow each other) but she lives in Southern California but has family in Arizona so back in 2016 when she came visiting we met in person. We were going to get together on some of my trips to California but then I wasn't feeling well so we postponed it and then Covid it. And then I met Myra from Respice, Prospice (another blog I don't think you read) who used to live in the Phoenix area and then moved to Alabama. We had lunch together with our hubbies a few times and she had us over for dinner one time so our hubbies could "jam" together with music. Oh, I just remembered. I met another former blogger, De from De's Thoughts who lives in the Phoenix area but when we got to know each other I was living in Montana then moved to Southern California. She and her kids came over to visit Disneyland on spring break and we met up and spent the day there together plus we have had lunch a few times here in Phoenix. So if you are out in Phoenix.....look me up :)

Well How Fun! I also follow Janette! She's such a sweetheart...glad you two finally got to meet up!
I would have dinged You had I realized, in time, that you passed through Waco, heading to Oklahoma! Oh well...maybe next time.
Glad you enjoyed the drive...feels good to just get out and about...

@betty ... I have to say you have really made the effort to meet your sister bloggers and I applaud you for that! I remembered last night that my total is actually five ... I met and was a few times in the home of Donna Martin, who used to blog at Cottage Days and Journeys. She and her husband (he has passed away now) were so good to me, and so encouraging about photography. Then in the summer of 2017 I met our darling Mari from My Little Corner of the World, and Cheryl from Cherdecor (I don't think she blogs anymore, due to her health), and Judy Miller from Onward and Upward. And now our Jeanette! It has been such a privilege to get to know these friends on a level removed from the screen. Always a joy and we've made such good memories even though the meetings were brief. And you'd better believe if I ever get into the state of Arizona (not likely but you never know), I will definitely look you up and talk your ears off! Haaahahaha xoxo

@Donna ... Girl! You misunderstood ... I have not set foot in the state of Texas since 1982 when I visited Dallas. If I'd been in Waco, you would have heard from me because I would have been on your doorstep (I know where you live), ringing the doorbell, demanding that you make a Dutch Baby so that we could devour it! No, we were several hours north of Waco but of course if I ever get down there I will walk over broken glass if necessary, for a chance to hug your sweet neck. Happy Easter my friend! xoxo

April 15, 2022 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Hey friend! It was for sure the highlights of my trip to meet you and that you drove for an hour and a half just to meet me! I was just now able to read this because we had terrible WiFi in the hotels. I'll be doing a recap of my trip in the next day or so! Oh and that wonderful banana bread is almost gone! OK I shared a little with Rich and my sister in law but I'm the guilty one! XO P.S I met Donna Martin too the last time I was down that way in 2016. She's a sweetheart! How nice that you got to meet her husband and see her beautiful home!

April 16, 2022 | Unregistered CommenterJeanette

@Jeanette .... hahahahaha I knew I'd get you good with that banana bread! I give it away rather than make it for us because I can't stay out of it either. Don't get me started on terrible WiFi in hotels! It seems to be a trend "since the pandemic" and don't get me started on that either or we'll be here all day. Yes Donna and Mr. Jim were so gracious and indeed had a gorgeous house! Good times. xoxo

April 16, 2022 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Now that was a fun visit. I have not met any fellow bloggers in person but am pen pals for as long as 10 years with some of the gals, including two who live in different countries. You have a talent for writing in a humorous mode and letting us almost be there with you two. I will visit Jeanette's blog.

April 18, 2022 | Unregistered CommenterTerra

@Terra ... Well you can form serious friendships by pen, so that is great that you have so many such relationships! That's pretty great. Yes do visit Jeanette! She's special. Happy week! xoxo

Another wonderful Celebration!

Perhaps you put (almost) too much effort into the planning and the doing, of a gathering dinner, that you just don't have any enthusiasm left, to enjoy eating it....?

Gorgeous photos all...

Yes, we had passing snow here last night. But... You are already hot in the daytime. We still have real Spring and early Summer, to enjoy up here. >,-)

Gentle hugs,

April 19, 2022 | Unregistered CommenterMari-Nanci

@Mari-Nanci ... you are probably correct but I don't know any other way to do it! We want to get together and it has been suggested that I ask everyone to bring something, but that is fraught with its own problems because the girls have much less time than I do, to spend in the kitchen. I think it's just that all the to-do makes me tired and by the time we sit down, I'm almost too tired to eat! But I manage anyway, haaaha! I'm glad your wintry weather did not last long and that you are enjoying your spring! xoxo

April 19, 2022 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Hi,
I have met up with two blogging buddies. It is so much fun. The one lived just a wee bit from me, I went to her home for lunch. The other lived on the South West of Wisconsin, we met along the Mississippi River and enjoyed a picnic with our families.
My son had his Basic Training at Fort Jackson.. if I would have known the Pirate back in 2018, I would have enjoyed meeting up. Maybe we still will. :-)

April 20, 2022 | Unregistered CommenterCarla TePaske

@Carla ... Wow you were in Columbia in 2018? Awww! I wish we'd been buddies then. I would have loved to hug your neck! xoxo

April 21, 2022 | Registered CommenterJennifer

I've met several blogging buddies over the years - all younger than I am. It's fun to meet people you know only by reading their blogs. I'm amazed at how "close" I feel to some of my blogger friends. I'm a good listener too - it's one of the traits I would name if someone asked me about myself. My Mom always said 'still waters run deep" when referring to me... The Pirate could definitely take over both her and my end of a conversation!

June 1, 2022 | Unregistered CommenterBarb

@Barb ... Well I would love an opportunity to sit with you and bend your ear! I have a feeling that soon you'd be talking to me too. People just do! xoxo
