Smile ... !
I love to smile and laugh, and I do both of those things many times every day. I'm also a crier, but even for a crier I cried a lot this week. Long story. Maybe someday I'll tell you about it.
Meantime, enjoy this semi-goofy photo montage of Josh Groban but especially his soulful performance of film great Charles Chaplin's immortal song Smile ... one of my favorite lyrics in the whole wide world. Interestingly and some might say paradoxically (if they talk that way), this song almost always makes me ... cry.
I don't know what's up with the bunny ears, but I hope Josh lets me borrow that "You Know You Want Me" tee-shirt for when I meet Johnny Depp. I look pretty good in red and if nothing else it will make Johnny ... smile.
Notice that darling, charming Josh almost coaxed a smile from Her Majesty the Queen of England.
Happy Weekend and Happy Labor Day, everyone! Stay safe and by all means eat too much.
And don't forget to smile.
(Thanks, Erica, for sending me the link to this sweet and special YouTube.)
EXTRA: Unfortunately this one is not embeddable, but click here to see and hear Josh singing Smile at Royal Albert Hall in London. Simply amazing.

You look great in that hat. But please tell me that you haven't joined the Red Hat Club at your young age.
@ Ruth ... thanks dear, and no, I have not and never will -- at any age -- join the red hat club! (Nothing against it but I'm not the club-joining type.) I just love wearing hats! My son is partial to that red one, and that pic was taken on the day last fall when he came home after completing Air Force BMT and tech school. He asked me to wear it when we picked him up at the airport, then he took me out to lunch and held my hand! It was a happy day.
Awww... such a sweet voice, and a sweet song, too. *Sigh*
After you with the red shirt, honey. ;)
My giant smile goes with my giant face, and I'm rarely without both together.
@ Jay ... you got it, luv.
@ WD ... excellent policy!
I'm sorry you've been unhappy. And even Josh's songs can be melancholy at times. But thanks for sharing the cute photos of him. He looks like my son at times. I loved you in the red hat! I have a red hat I love too. But have you read the poem the Red Hat Society is based on? They are totally missing the point... I told my mom if she was really honoring the spirit of the poem, she'd wear an orange hat with a yellow dress to her red hat meeting! I never got the whole "let's all be rebels in a large identical group" mentality. (And don't I sound grumpy today!)
@ Tracie ... exactly! Every time I wear that hat, some well-meaning person asks me if I'm in the red hat society. I know it's just a kind inquiry and is not meant to insult me or anything, and I don't take offense. But I don't understand why that dumb poem (sorry but I think it's dumb) should suddenly make a simple accessory like a cute red straw hat into some kind of age- and gender-related social statement! It's just a hat ... no meaning beyond, it completed my outfit!
No, you don't sound grumpy ... any more than I do!
Jenny, you do look good in red! And you have a beautiful smile! Have a good weekend! darla
ps: I guess we dodged another bullet over here.. looks like Gustav is headed to the LA coast instead of TX.
Well, I think you put your finger on the problem. The poem IS dumb and rather insulting. I want to grow old graciously and not be a brat just because I'm old enough to get away with it, which is what the poem seems to be promoting.
@ Darla ... thank you so much, sweetie ... and thank God you're safe. Now we must pray for the ones still in Gustav's path! I have lots of kinfolk in Louisiana.
@ Tracie ... I want to grow old gorgeously ... from the inside out ... and I'm not into any philosophy that begins with the words "When I am an old woman ..." LOLOLOL! I have no plans for "when I am an old woman" ... none whatsoever. I don't plan to ever be an old woman.
I'm glad you aren't getting Gustav!
I've updated the Billy Connolly thread, BTW, with an explanation. In case you're interested.
I must agree - you do look stunning with red accessorizing your lovely smile!
Thanks for sharing Josh! And hope your story has a happy ending!
@ Jay ... thanks luv, and I'll try to pop over there!
@ Keli ... thanks so much for your kind words, my friend!
Aw. I love that song. It does sound sad, tho. You look lovely in your red hat. I hope you're not crying anymore.
@ JD ... naw, girl, I'm grinning big time. But I still cry a little bit every day, just because. Thanks for stopping by!
Very nice I want You all the best !
Methinks someone is overdue for a new blog post! ;-)
@ Steven ... thanks, my friend. Same to you.
@ Kev ... as usual you are so right! Working on that ...
