Snapshot Saturday: Columbia, SC (famously hot)

TG and I, as we are wont to do, took a stroll last night after supper, in The Vista.
We wandered past clots of young people thronging eateries and drinkeries, enjoying a cool breeze and all the lights and colors.
Speaking of colors, I do love me a red building.
And the sight of trees and lights against the darkening sky.
Also I find I have a thing about street signs at night, like this one at the corner of Park and Gervais.

Adluh Flour....Think I've heard of it!

Happy night sweetie!

Neat. The one thing we don't have here -- well, not the *one* thng, there are a few things we don't have here -- is a place to walk around in the evening and enjoy the sights, safely. Unless you count watching the gang bangers congregate and watching the pushers sell drugs. But that's not safe.
Oops, did I say that out loud?
Lovely pictures, too. You have a good eye.
Donna ... Adluh makes a killer biscuit mix! Hugs to you, dear!
JT ... well, one evening after work you're gonna have to drive over here! I'll meet you and we'll hang out! It'll be fun!
There. I want to go there. Shopping, art, walking, eating, MOTORCYCLES!
Hobbit, it's only 166 miles from Fayetteville to Columbia! Just so you know! LOL it's doable. I'm thrilled to do the honors! Your call.
Spring Lake. I think it might actually be closer.
What a wonderfully productive stroll.
Hobbit ... Spring Lake's north of Fayetteville ... so, 176 miles. Still doable! You can spend the night at my place.
Irene ... it was, wasn't it? Fun, too!
Great pictures and looks like a nice stroll. If the weather there is anything like the weather here in West Tennessee, I don't know how you lived through that stroll without getting dehydrated, ha. Temps over 100, heat indexes around 115 and up.
Hubby's band played yesterday during the day, outside, and there is no telling how much water they drank.
They played again last night, but that was in an air conditioned building. Thanks goodness.
Debbie ... I know exactly what you mean, luv. We go out just about every Friday evening and many times it's barely bearable, LOL ... this past Friday was awful during the day, but when it got dark there were storms in outlying areas so there was a beautiful breeze and the humidity seemed to have relented momentarily. So it was delightful. We did sit outside to enjoy ice-cold Cokes late in the evening, though! It was delightful. Sounds like you and hubby had a fun and relaxing weekend too.
