Ecstatically shooting everything in sight using my beloved Nikon D3100 with AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G VR kit lens and AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G prime lens.

Also capturing outrageous beauty left and right with my Nikon D7000 blissfully married to my Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D AF prime glass. Don't be jeal.

And then there was the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f:3.5-5.6G ED VR II zoom. We're done here.

This makes me sad

This morning a 16-year-old Amish girl was killed by a direct lightning strike at her home in Kentucky.

She was digging potatoes out of the family garden when it happened.

God bless and comfort the family of Mary-Ella Horning Leid.

On June 4, 2010, 25-year-old Bethany Lott was struck by lightning as she and her boyfriend hiked Max Patch Bald on the North Carolina-Tennessee border. She was killed instantly.

Richard Butler was moments away from asking Bethany for her hand in marriage when the lightning struck them both. While he was simply knocked down, spun around, terrified and left with smoking feet, Bethany wasn't so fortunate.

Mr. Butler managed to run for help, but there was nothing anyone could do. As the paramedics pronounced Bethany dead at the scene, Richard put the engagement ring on her finger.

In her obituary, he was listed as her fiance.

Just seems like a bizarre way to go. I don't know. I'm sad now.

Let's go see if there's any lime sherbet.

That's terrible, so very sad. Lightening can be very dangerous, unpredictable, and just plane scary.

A few years ago a house up the hill from us (we live on a hill by the river) was hit by a direct lightening strike and burned to the ground, nothing left but ashes. It sounded like a rocket had hit the house. No one was home thank goodness.

I always feel that's the most bizarre death, my good friends mother was killed that way as well, all her children were playing around her as she too worked on the farm, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
