O Holy Night: Celine Dion
Mucho Caliente!
We seem to have foregone what passes for even our meager, weak-willed version of "winter" and gone straight to spring here in South Carolina.
Daytime highs throughout this week are predicted to remain in the mid to high 70s. We're enjoying balmy breezes, short sleeves, open sunroofs, and nonexistent heating bills ... only thing is, it's so muggy that my central air conditioning is once again humming away.
A few more days of this and the dogwoods will be blooming ... or at least a brave crocus. That will look funny with the Christmas lights.
So to keep the Christmas spirit on the front burner where it belongs, here is the incredible Celine Dion with a breathtaking and characteristically dramatic rendition of O Holy Night. She's pretty cool.
Merry *fans self* Christmas!

Another great rendition of that song!
PS - it's been snowing all night and is 14 degrees here!
Mari, I think you all are hogging the winter weather, LOL! This is warm even for us ... and I do wish it would turn a bit frostier. It's hard to know what to wear! Bare legs in December seems hardly appropriate, and yet ... but enjoy that beautiful snow! I know you will.
Oh lucky you! Bloggers from the south have been commenting on how nice the weather is right now. They talk about the 71 degree days with soft breezes blowing. Not here! We have beautiful snow coming down and sleet every once in a while. The temperatures are dropping. I am happy to not be out driving tonight.
Cheryl, today it was 75 here and tomorrow we are expecting 77! It is wonderful not to have to wear a coat or even a sweater when you go out! But I do envy you the beauty of the snow at Christmastime. Stay warm and safe!
Monday morning, December 15...I drove to work in -18 temperatures. Enough snow on the ground to bring yetis out to the malls to look for hairball medicine.
The upcoming weekend is projected to have subfreezing temperatures and more snow ;-)
Ain't the best to drive in, but it certainly is seasonal and in keeping with the spirit of the season ;-)
Merry Christmas, whatever your weather!
@ SF ... minus eighteen? Good grief, man ... where do you live? Or rather, where do you shiver? LOLOLOL! I wouldn't be able to handle that ... but I agree that the wintry weather is charming at Christmastime as long as you can stay warm and get from point A to point B without slipping and sliding into a ditch or another vehicle! It's on January 1 that I would become very weary of it, very quickly.
Be that as it may, I hope you are successful in dodging the needy yetis frequenting your mall!
It's the same here in Georgia. Current temperature at the moment? 73 degrees. It is the seventeenth of December and it's 73 degrees outside!
Winter no longer exists in the South. It died, but no one bothered to tell us.
Kev, it's crazy. Simply mind-bogglingly crazy. All my neighbors are working in their yards, buzz-whine-buzz. Supposed to be just shy of 80 degrees here tomorrow ... but I'm glad that at least you are feeling better! To quote Sweeney Todd: "How about a shave?"
I wish I had warm weather right now. I hate even leaving the house when it's cold and snowy outside. :(
Can I move in with you? :)
Diana, absolutely! Leave your coat in Cleveland and don't forget to pack your flip-flops!
Woohoo! I'll be right over! ...As soon as I find out where you live. ;)
LOL Diana! You know I'm going to put you to work cooking and cleaning, right?
Ummm....I just remembered I had a lot of stuff to do here in Cleveland....maybe another time! :)
Hmph! I thought as much! LOL ... have a Merry Christmas anyway, Diana!
